What Is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a process that uses a high-temperature oven and an electrically charged powder that is applied to your chosen materials to improve longevity and overall corrosion resistance.

The process was designed initially for aluminium, which is more "stable" than the galvanised surface of the items we manufacture. Whilst you can powder coat galvanised materials, galvanising, when heated in an oven, emits gases and oils. At times this can be seen as "pimpling" on the surface of the coating.

Whilst this pimpling from powder coating isn’t detrimental to the longevity of the coating, it is important to keep this in mind when exploring powder coating services before deciding if it’s right for you.

If you’re interested in powder coating, it’s important to remember that the maximum lengths of items that you can powder coat are 4.0mtr due to our oven length restrictions. The cost of powder coating also depends on the items that you’re looking to coat.

We have a minimum charge for powder coating (excluding the cost of the materials) and that is £240.
